Mechanical Engineer - Lift Solutions & Sustaining
Job DescriptionESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Work with Senior Engineers to complete design reviews, FEA analysis, FMEA analysis, cost reduction and system optimization efforts.
Work directly with customers, suppliers, other engineering groups and manufacturing to successfully complete projects.
Resolve supplier and design issues on existing crawler product identified by manufacturing, test, customer and warranty feedback.
Assignments may involve quoting and designing solutions to meet special customer requirements on new or existing crawler cranes utilizing a variety of engineering disciplines.
Utilize CAD software to design components and systems to implement solutions.
Prepare concept sketches, layouts, models, drawings, and specification documents as required.
Assist with planning and coordination of component and system validation and installation.
Prepare reports on basic analysis, test, performance, schedule and cost information as required.
Assist other departments in preparation of manuals and sales literature on assigned projects.
Communicate with management, team members, and production staff across a variety of media.
Ability to perform job functions in a safe manner and complete all safety training required.
When in a manufacturing or jobsite environment, must wear all Personal Protective Equipment (P.
P.
E.
) required for the job being performed.
JOB REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required, Mechanical preferred.
Experience with 2D and 3D Engineering software required; preferably AutoCAD and Creo.
General knowledge of mechanical systems and engineering principles.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office programs such as Word and Excel required.
Experience with construction, agricultural or heavy equipment, and/ or hands on mechanical experience preferred.
This position will be located in a normal office environment with exposure to the manufacturing shop floor and product test environments as required.
Travel required up to 10% of the time.
