Here is a great way to get into the collector car market.
This turn-key 1979 Camaro Berlinetta has the classic lines and nice ride of a second generation V8 Camaro, yet is priced less than the average used Hyundai.
This example was built at the Los Angeles plant in June of 1979 and shows 47k miles.
It retains its original color of Medium Green along with a factory vinyl top.
Subtle pinstriping has been added along with aftermarket American Racing wheels and Cooper tires (the original wheels are included).
It adds a sporty flair to the sleek Berlinetta platform.
The frame and body are free of any major rust problems, with a single repair having been made under the driver's floor area.
This car retains its original G-code 305ci V8 engine.
It is essentially stock but wears aftermarket chrome valve covers.
The balance of the drivetrain consists of a TH350 automatic transmission and 10-bolt rear end for a very reliable setup.
You will also find power brakes and power steering, making this car safe and easy for anyone to operate.
All mechanical systems have been inspected and are in good working condition.
It starts easily and offers a comfortable ride as well.
The deluxe interior features vinyl bucket seats with cloth inserts.
They flank a center console with floor shifter that gives a sporty feel.
The carpet, door panels, headliner, and dash are all in very good condition.
This car was optioned with a tilt steering column and cruise control (which works properly).
The wipers, horn, and heater/defroster are all functional.
So are the headlights, turn signals, and interior lights.
The speedometer and fuel gauge read accurately, though the tachometer and clock do not.
The factory audio system has been upgraded to a nice sounding Pioneer unit with color display and backup camera.
Camaros will always be one of the most desirable and identifiable American collector cars.
While prices have soared recently, this one remains very affordable.
And we're not talking about some unfinished project here; this is a complete Camaro that is ready to go.
