Cars come in all shapes and sizes, performing all manner of functions.
They can get you to work, take your family on vacation, haul groceries, or many other such tasks.
But this T-bucket was built with one thing in mind - to have fun.
And with a genuine 1926 Ford body, tri-power Flathead, and 5-speed manual transmission it is a very unique example as well.
You won't find another quite like this one! To begin, this is not a typical fiberglass replica.
It has the steel body of a real Henry Ford Model T.
The old tilt-out windshield and metal sill plates are there, and the trunk uses an original type skeleton key.
Nice! Note the driver side door too; prior to 1926 only a passenger side door was offered.
There is also a 1932 style grille shell.
The frame has been replaced with a custom assembly offering more strength, a better suspension, and hydraulic brakes all around.
The red spoked steel wheels with wide whitewall tires are a great touch, and a second set of steel wheels is also included.
The drivetrain is a Flathead V8 featuring Edelbrock heads and an aluminum tri-power intake manifold - the essence of any Ford hot rod! The three carburetors make for such a classic look and give it plenty of scoot.
There is also an updated ignition system and an alternator disguised as a generator.
The engine is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission with overdrive while the rear end is a Ford 9-inch unit.
Thankfully the Model T's rear-only mechanical brakes have been upgraded, replaced by hydraulic 4-wheel drums with a dual master cylinder hidden under the old cowl fuel door.
A fuel cell has been mounted in the trunk compartment along with an electric fuel pump and regulator.
The steering uses a Flaming River box.
Front suspension has custom hairpins and a drop axle, while the rear features extended trailing arms and adjustable coilovers.
The interior continues the hot rod theme in brilliant red.
The bench seat, side panels, and shifter boot contrast nicely with the black carpet and dash.
Instrumentation is all functional and consists of a speedometer, voltmeter, oil pressure, water temperature, and fuel gauges.
There is also a choke knob along with functional turn signals and a parking brake.
The wooden steering wheel is a nice touch too.
The Kwik Wire wire harness is new and features a trunk mounted fuse panel.
Note this one is titled as a 1926 Ford and includes many receipts.
This ad lists many features and photos of this car, which is not difficult to do.
But this one has a presence that is harder to describe.
It may not be a daily driver and isn't well suited for a family of four.
But it offers an entertaining automotive experience that sure is hard to beat.
