Now here is a classic style T-bucket! With a tri-power engine, raked removeable top, vertical steering column, and big tires on wire wheels it really looks the part.
But it is also a nice build that will draw a crowd wherever it goes.
And while it can be a lot of fun, just getting gas in this car can turn into a 30-minute production; everyone wants to hear about it.
Titled as a 1923 Ford, this one is finished in black along with a burgundy top and deck cover and wood panels in back.
The custom chassis has a long 97 wheelbase for a nicer ride.
This build looks great as a roadster, but it becomes more outrageous with the top in place due to its big rake and windshield overhang.
As a classic T-Bucket this one features a single passenger door and long side exhaust pipes (so watch your legs).
Note the side lamps and winged MotoMeter cap too.
The old school wire wheels wear Pirelli 130/90B16 motorcycle tires in front and Mickey Thompson 29x15 Sportsmans in back, all with 2017 date codes.
The drivetrain is a Chevy 350 with a trio of Rochester carburetors on an Offenhauser intake - pretty cool! It has the right sound as well.
The transmission is a TH350 automatic feeding a Ford 9 rear end.
The front suspension uses a traditional dropped tube axle with a transverse leaf spring and four-bar setup, while the rear uses a 4-link with Panhard bar and adjustable coilovers.
Brakes are 4-wheel discs with Wilwoods in back.
The interior is finished in the same burgundy color as the top and features a wooden dashboard and steering wheel.
There are a lot of features you don't often see in these builds including a windshield wiper, horn, cupholder, parking brake, and seat belts.
It also has a GPS speedometer showing 1,100 miles and a full suite of gauges mid-dash.
And of course there is that vertical steering column which is not only a real throwback but also improves foot space and cleans up the engine area.
Note the removeable one-piece top is both sturdy and heavy, but is easy to remove/install with two people.
The trunk area provides a pair of storage compartments along with a power port.
When it comes to hot rods and T-Buckets, no two are alike.
There is a huge variance in features, styles, and build quality.
This '23 hits the sweet spot in all these areas while offering a complete, turn-key package for a fraction of the build cost.
And while these cars are certainly not practical transportation, there is nothing like them on a Saturday night.
